CPC = Spend ÷ Clicks

CPA = Spend ÷ Conversions

CTR = Clicks ÷ Impressions × 100

Conv. rate = Conversions ÷ Clicks × 100

Reading the chain.

These four numbers tell one story: CTR says the creative earns the click, conversion rate says the page and offer close it, and CPC and CPA price each step. When CPA is too high, the fix is usually visible in the chain — expensive clicks (creative/auction problem) or cheap clicks that don't convert (page/offer/audience problem). Run the numbers per campaign, not just per account, and the weak link shows itself.

What is a good CPA?

The only CPA benchmark that matters is your own economics: what a customer is worth to you. Work backward — if a customer's value is known, the ceiling on acceptable CPA follows from your margin, and every campaign is judged against that number rather than someone else's industry average. That's also why the same CPA can be excellent for one business and ruinous for its competitor.
